Think about the best dream you ever had--one you didn't want to wake up from. Then make it infinitely more wonderful and you have heaven.
Heaven is all about God. He made it and invites us to be there with him. The Bible teaches that all who put their faith in Jesus will join him in heaven. In fact, it says that he has prepared it especially for us. For followers of Christ, heaven is our true home. Life on earth is but a tease of the joys that awaits God's children.
Should we spend much time thinking about heaven? Absolutely! Colossians 3:2 says to "set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." One reason it encourages this is because we are members of heaven NOW, if we have faith in Christ. "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philippians 3:20)
In our story Jonathan has an amazing dream. He is an ordinary boy but where he goes is extraordinary. The pleasures he enjoys are beyond imagination.
